Constant dropouts and T3 time outs

Since the big outage last week I, like many others, am now experiencing constant dropouts that last anything from 30 seconds to 5 minutes. This happens pretty much every single hour, at least. Sometime multiple times an hour.

This is just today, for example..

My Broadband Ping - Virgin Connection

 

I use several of my own external monitoring tools and here you can see the big outage and how my connection has been since. It's rendering my connection unusable for anything meaningful.

My network log is littered with T3 time outs. I've checked and tightened all the connections, but to no effect, obviously.

I'll post all the data here and hopefully someone technical can help.

For reference, i have a hub 4 set to modem mode and have my own orbi mesh, which is rock-solid.

Also try the 0800 561 0061 number. Try that to see if there are any faults that the web service hasn't picked up!

The D/S power looks to be a little too high on a few channels - If there isn't a wider issue; VM need to book a tech visit to sort this!

thanks. i'd prefer to avoid calling VM. I don't have half a day to waste explaining to someone in the 'technical support team' that 'wifi' isn't the same as 'internet'

Whilst waiting for VM staff to respond on here...

As you are is modem mode - can you do this experiment as the BQM looks peculiarly "cyclical/rhythmical"...

There is one other option, there have been several threads on here recently where similar BQM latency/packet loss problems were eventually pinned down to a dodgy piece of connected kit affecting the connection . Bad connectors on ethernet cables and faulty network switches being high on the list of suspects

What I advised was... if you run the BQM for 24h to get a picture of the issues (you have done this) - and then unplug all the ethernet cable connections from the Hub and just let it run - overnight is best - then in the morning look at the BQM and see if it has cleaned up. If it has - plug the devices back in one at a time for an hour or two until the problem reappears and that should indicate where to look for what is causing the issues

thanks, yes, i'll try that for sure. the devices in the house and how they're connected are the same as they've been for ages, but i'll give it a go just in case.
