Hi all,
I've arranged for Gig1 install on my house on February 2nd.
The old Virgin connection came into the house from the front. However, I need the cable to follow the same route as my current BT broadband which goes up through the attic and drops down into the middle of the house (through the rear of the property).
This wasn't as issue with BT, I'm just wondering if there's any way to get an area manager to OK this for me? If we're unable to get the router where the current BT router is then sadly it's a deal breaker! We don't want internal wires.
I saw one of the mods talk about a pre-installation visit here, how would I be able to arrange this? https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/QuickStart-set-up-and/Install-concern/td-p/5289093
Many thanks 😁

Hi draxdax,
Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐
This is certainly something we can check for you. A pre-install visit is usually done now with all customers to complete any external work that's required however this can be done at any point between booking your installation and the installation date itself.
I can check with the local area field manager to see if we can narrow down a specific date for you so you can then talk through your requirements. The visiting engineer will then be able to discuss things and if what you're asking isn't possible, they can look at another way. Ultimately, it may be that we won't be able to install you but will try all options 🙂
We will need to confirm some information with you in order for us to proceed with checks. I have sent you a direct message to allow us to do this with you in a private space. If you are using a PC/Laptop then you can just click on the little ✉ at the top right-hand side of the page to access your inbox. If you are on a mobile/tablet device then instead click on the little circle icon in the top right then select 'Messages'. 😊
Thanks,

not going to happen - you need to rethink - maybe router at front of house the ethernet following your route to where you want to finish up - you would have to fit the ethernet cable

Hi kath, I'm not able to send any more private messages for some reason. Hi Kath, as per your website and the contract it's £42.00 is the initial monthly cost. Many thanks
