Can't find Wall Socket

I can't find an internal wall socket... nor can I find a external brown box.

Why have I been allowed to take out a self home kit if it is near impossible?

VM records must show a previous installation.  That's not to say the previous owner removed it all?  You need an manned installation so phone VM to arrange.  Hopefully the cable is still available somewhere from the street.
