Availability, Getting connected and Wayleave Process

Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of the process involved to get connected when construction work is required.

I have spoken to the sales team and a spotter has been out.  Unfortunately, when I am told I will be called back I am not. What I do know is the following:

My property (no 52) is separated from the road by a small community garden and pathway owned by the local council.  I have been told that no.50 which backs onto the road and all houses before that number can be connected.

Beyond my property there are an additional 6 properties (54-66) that can not be connected either, but are very close to each other and my property.

My property sits approximately 20 meters back from the road and it is just earth covering the area between it and the road.

There is no BT Fiber or similar available in the area, so no competition.

So from what I was told, the connection meets the basic commercial criteria.

The Wayleave team are now dealing with the issue of permissions/access.

My questions are, what is the best way to keep up to date with progress?  I am told that I will be called back but since May whenever I have contacted Virgin media, which has been multiple times I have been told I would be contacted back each time, I have never received a call.  Additionally, depending on who I get through to I seem to get a different answer, so is it possible to have one person as a point of contact.

How long is this process likely to take?

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process, i.e. contact the local council to start looking at permission to fit the access cable.

Thanks,

Toby

Re: Availability, Getting connected and Wayleave Process

Hi tobytwo

I am happy to take a look at this for you

To be honest if this has been ongoing since May its unlikely you are in a cabled property

However I can go away get some answers and let you know

I will need to take some details by a Private Message though

Just check the purple envelope top right of your screen

Re: Availability, Getting connected and Wayleave Process

Hello Toby

I have had a look and asked the questions

Sadly we are not able to get you installed

The property and address is locked

Due to permission to lay cabling and the cost this would incur. We would not be able get you installed

Re: Availability, Getting connected and Wayleave Process

Hi Gareth,

Is it the cost of laying the cabling or the cost of getting the permission?

Thanks,

Toby

Hi tobytwo,

This would be the cost of laying the cabling
