I've just called customer support and they've told me in order to have the 500mbps internet I need to be on the top package for all three services that VM offers. That includes TV Package, Phone. Is this true? I find this hard to believe.

it's only available on the V VIP tier, it will probably change at some point but for the moment it is indeed correct

I think there is also a technicality involved. You can only upgrade to 500Mbps if you are in a 350Mbps area. If your area happens to be capped at 200Mbps, perhaps due to congestion or inadequate kit, you can't upgrade to 350Mbps let alone 500Mbps.

I was on 200 and have recently updated to 500 with VVID. The VM webpage has never said that 350 was available in my area, always said I was on the top package with no upgrades available!

Looks as if VIVID 350 is now available!
