Any ideas how I can connect 2.4ghz devices on a virgin hub 5 e.g smart lights ?
I have changed settings on my hub to just 2.4 but I can’t even get the device to recognise on the app even though both the app and phone are on the same wifi.

Try disabling WiFi-6.

Not sure on the HUB 5, however there will be a setting somewhere.
Something like 'Wireless Mode'. WiFi-6 is usually identified as 'ax'.

Hey Flash4865, thanks for reaching out on our help forum about this issue.
We're sorry to see you've had trouble connecting your devices on the 2.4G band on our hub 5, please be advised if your hub's channel optimisation is on then you would not need to switch bands on your devices as they would automatically do this themselves, linking up to whichever band is best from the ones available at the time, however they would always try the 5G network first.
Please, let us know how you get on since you posted here and if you've managed to work things out.
Happy to help if you need more assistance.
Can you also explain the reason why you wish your devices to go on the 2G all the time as this is a slow frequency?
Cheers
