wifi booster having lag spikes

I keep having lag spikes even with my lan cable plugged into the big booster which is clear of obstacles. However my small one which is connected with a lan cable to the router is behind a huge cupboard . is this why? Also what causes the lag is red arrows appearing on my main booster so is the problem the small one?
