what are the source of RS Errors?

Tuning in

Will the errors cause the hub to reboot or the hub has problem and generate the errors?

Actualy what is RS?

No they won’t and it stands for Reed-Solomon who were two American mathematicians.

so auto reboot is likely caused by problems of the hub itself?

could be - could be many things

log into hub3 - 192.168.0.1 [or 192.168.100.1 if in modem mode] - DON'T SIGN IN, click - click router status [centre of screen] - and post the downstream and upstream figures - to see those press on the grey buttons/boxes labelled - upstream - downstream

if its an earlier hub button is top right

levels are good but rs errors are not - you could do a reboot to zero them and see if they rise again - check all the coax connections are tight if they rise again you need a tech to look at things

there are random burst of errors, twice a day or once a week

they have looked into it before and nothing improved. the coax cord had also been replaced.

Hubs do not auto reboot, they lose their connection to the VM CMTS, the equipment at the other end of your cable. When this happens the hubs go through a retry sequence until they reestablish a connection. During this often the WiFi and Ethernet devices will not communicate even just on the LAN. A large number of Post RS errors and T3’s can certainly cause this. If a hub does reboot itself you will find messages in the log with a date of 01/01/1970.

Hi there @tsui

Thank you so much for your post and I'm so sorry to see that you have been facing disconnects!

Have you been able to try the reset as advised by @-tony-

If so how are things now looking?

Thank you.
