Hello everyone, I could really use some help as I'm a bit of a technophobe!
My daughter is managing to use up her data allowances every month. She is also hitting her spending cap each month. I was concerned about this as it is unusual for her, so topped up the cap by an extra 3 pounds last night when she was in bed. By 9.00 this morning she had used it up but not been out of the house and was looking at the internet through wifi at home.
I don't understand how she is using data up when browsing on wifi. Could anyone clarify this for me before I go mad!! she had not sent any picture messages etc, she was literally browsing some of her apps inc whatsapp and maybe listening to a bit of music
its a samsung galaxy 7 edge . I had a look and it does say certain apps like google play and utube use data, but what Im not understanding is why they are using so much when t home, connected to wifi? she is running out of 8GB a month plus extra? it seems a lot
I have a Samsung Galaxy phone and have mobile data disabled at home (Settings > Connections > Data usage > Mobile data). Your daughter should do the same. She should check her WiFi speed with speedtest.net.
