latency change and one upstream high at nigh

legacy1

So I likely will not get a answer to the latency as their seems to be two types

My Broadband Ping - BQM

then changed to this

My Broadband Ping - BQM

Bit of channel changing last night with one upstream channel is higher then the rest the timeout will rest to 0 tonight but my connection seems fine with this one high power upstream.

I wonder if someone in my area is locked on one channel at high power causing me to go high for that channel?

So 24hr later when the internet last went down every 2mins started get T4 with Dynamic Range Window Violation weather the upstream power would fix itself is unknown as I rebooted the hub to see what would happen (not a reset) and all upstream power are now fine.

Maybe when the network when down the hub trying to reconnect on any upstream went high and just locked high thinking it could not go lower?

Possibly an artefact of using an SH2 when the overwhelming number of hubs are now all running D3.1/D3.0 with different frequency range and different effective channel widths to your antique hub?

Maybe you have to move with the times and ask for a modern hub, even a Hub 3 would be better.

If it was that bad would a see ping spikes and packet loss? nice try but I'm sure their are many old SH2 users out their even the odd SH1! given it has the same number of D3.0 channels, VM could not hope to replace all SH1/2 with hub 5 if they made all them off line.

No, your transmit power is unique to you (depending on where the impairment is, others will have the same high level). The CMTS keeps separate levels for all modems. The path between your modem and the CMTS determines what your levels are.

Hi there @legacy1

Thank you for your post and welcome back to the forums, it's always great to have you on the team with us.

I am so sorry to hear that you have been noticing issues with your service, I have taken a look and I can see that you are currently effected by an SNR outage that is due to be resolved tomorrow at 3.15pm.

Are you able to let us know how things are looking after this time and then we can take another look into these issues and the Hub?

Will do guess thats the packet loss I'm seeing today

Bit of packet loss at night as I guess the hunters find the SNR problem looks fine after that

...tiny bit of packet loss going on like 0.01%

and a lot more today around 0.1% loss
