Fibre optic

How do I turn off the wifi on the new virgin Hub 4,

It was broken on the Hib 3, we could not disable it

I have been "down graded" to the hub 4 now

can't seem to find out how to disable the virgin wifi !

Is it still not possible , or do I need to look again ?

What would you suggest for a firewall appliance for the 500 Mb/s ?

I have this that will be good for 1Gb

ZyWALL VPN300 VPN Firewall | Zyxel

or the VPN100 for a bit over 500Mb TCP speeds

ZyWALL VPN100 VPN Firewall - Specifications | Zyxel

It's in the settings, but may I ask why you need to turn off the WiFi most people only use Wifi.

There are 10 types of people: those who understand binary and those who don't and F people out of 10 who do not understand hexadecimal c1a2a285948293859940d9a49385a2

Thank you

Yes, it was in the settings, just on the Hub 3,

Seems it was my impatience, I apologise,

I renamed and changed the pass word on the virgin wifi,

      then disabled it,

checked with a lap top, and the name change had happened, but it was not turned off.

So can re name it , but not turn it off.

Ah well.

as to why do I want to do it .

Well, have house over three floors, and a granny annex, and house is wired for Ethernet cable and my own managed WiFi

One Virgin hub does just not cut the mustard,

Well, have house over three floors, and a granny annex, and house is wired for Ethernet cable and my own managed WiFi ” if you are doing this I have a suggestion. Buy a router, NOT a consumer router that also has WiFi and a network switch in it, just a plain router. This would offer a lot of other monitoring facilities and you would run the Hub4 in modem mode. My Hub4 works exceedingly well in modem mode. I use all Ubiquiti/Unifi networking equipment.

all the network gear is either HP or Cisco,

What would you suggest for a firewall appliance for the 500 Mb/s ?

Still seems that we should be getting a discount as we are having to do this as there equipment has software faults that they decide not to fix.

Thank you

Paying 600 Quid for something to get around a problem Virgin wont fix in there firmware seems a bit "odd"
