hub 3 - low ethernet speed

herewego
Just joined

Hi all

Will keep this short and sweet

Have hub3 200mb with virgin

Wifi is great get 200mb+ via wifi

When I plug my devices via home plug or ethernet to MacBook I only get 93mb? So nothing higher than 100mb

Have tried rebooting, turning off all the security features tried every port in the router and using cat5e cables (have changed and swapped and still the same).

Don't have a mesh just using the router in normal mode not modem.

This is very annoying and any help would be much appreciated.

Do I need a new router?

Home plugs will always attenuate speeds. Take that out of the test - with a direct connection to the Hub on a good and known working Cat5e/6 cable - they can "fail" and default to ~100 max speeds.

Test speeds at https://speedtest.samknows.com/ - try on 2 different browsers as Chrome sometimes gives odd results.

What year model of Macbook is it?

Check in Sys Prefs -> Network what the speed is set to - is it 1GB or at 100mbps?
