does virgin dampen speeds on router mode

do you guys dampen speeds when going in modem mode (super hub 3.0) to a new router? i have a netgear R7000 nighthawk with a 1gigabit transfer speed yet only get 200 MBit download and 10 Mbit upload, i should be on vivid 350 which is 250 Mbit upload and 21 Mbit upload.

Re: does virgin dampen speeds on router mode

So how comes that I now only have 200 Mbit speed and 10 Mbit upload with virgin media own cables connecting the modem and router, yet I do not get the speeds that I should be on, Its a 1GBit transfer speed on the router.

Re: does virgin dampen speeds on router mode

Maybe QoS is set to auto and is limiting your speed wrongly.

Connect a PC to the hub in modem mode by power off the hub for 2mins to allow a MAC change and run a speed test.

Re: does virgin dampen speeds on router mode

On the router settings there is a function to check the speeds the modem can max out and the results are even lower then before the upgrade currently sitting at 168Mb/s 10.2Mb/s

No matter whether i set it to automatic performance optimisation(which relies on the last speed test results to perform the QoS) or not the router would not give higher speeds then those of the last speed test results.

as already requested - Connect a PC to the hub in modem mode by power off the hub for 2mins to allow a MAC change and run a speed test. (ie without your router).

Re: does virgin dampen speeds on router mode

Hi galactus87,

How are the speeds looking since your post? If still the same, can you kindly post the results, so we can assist you further.

Kind regards,
