Hi everyone,

I'm looking at installing mesh WiFi.

Just wondering though if all 4 ports still work on the superhub 3 to run the rest of the network..... I've got wired stuff around the house but WiFi for those that want it is worse than terrible.

Thanks in advance

No, only one.  Just buy a unmanaged switch to add additional ethernet ports, they are not that expensive.

No once you switch to modem mode ports 2,3 &4 do not function and port 1 will be used solely to connect your mesh wifi system.

A lot of Mesh systems work in modem mode with first unit being the router - t will have the functional ethernet ports you need to connect our devices and switches to.

Thanks guys,

really appreciate all your help I have just been looking at amazon's own system.... Looks reasonable. Only 2 ports on the back of the router though but run one down to a switch and I guess that should solve my problems.... Or the kids problems I should say 🤣

Some mesh systems are designed to work with their own DHCP server, so the hub should be in modem mode for these. A typical setup is like this.

Hub in modem mode --> primary mesh unit --> network switch --> secondary mesh unit
--> other devices (TV box, laptop, etc)
