destiny 2 warning about consistently unstable network connection

I got a warning in destiny 2 today, first time in the 6 years I've been playing it, they could ban me if the connection issues keep happening, basically I'm lagging a lot, and other players are reporting me.

Ran a DLSReport, and it show a really high bufferbloat: http://www.dslreports.com/speedtest/67440195

I'm with Virgin Media Ireland, have the Hub 2.0, and am on the 1000Mb package.

I'm personally going to say that connection looks pretty good from what you've posted, try setting up one a BQM at this site and we can check if anything obvious rears it head.

Re: destiny 2 warning about consistently unstable network connection

Hi, here it is: https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality/view/4a2be5fd70a96abcca3fe4018e1a0cfc86d...

It is all red though, I think the router is blocking inbound ping requests.

I've been trying to figure out how to enable that in the admin console (it's the Hub 2.0).

Re: destiny 2 warning about consistently unstable network connection

There's a "respond to ICMP requests" option in the admin pages

Re: destiny 2 warning about consistently unstable network connection

I've been trying to find that, can't find it anywhere, here's what I see, I've looked at all the pages in the admin console for a setting like that.

Re: destiny 2 warning about consistently unstable network connection

Virgin Media Superhub R36 Firmware

  1. Navigate to routers web interface
  2. Under the Advanced Settings -> Tools -> Ping menu
  3. Tick the WAN Ping Respond box
  4. Apply/Save changes
  5. BQM should soon start showing ping responses, rather than solid red

Virgin Media Superhub (Netgear VMDG480)

  1. Login to the router using your web browser at http://192.168.0.1 (this is the default IP address; if you have changed it, you will need to update it)
  2. Enter your username/password. The default settings will be found on a label at the back of the superhub under "Superhub settings" and will probably be 'admin' and 'changeme' respectively.
  3. On the next screen, find the 'Advanced Settings' link at the bottom of the page
  4. Under the 'Advanced' sub-menu click on 'Ping'
  5. Finally, ensure the tickbox is checked after 'Respond to ICMP echo requests sent to WAN IP' and click 'Apply'.
  6. That's it! you should be done. Just don't forget to check back regularly (we would recommend weekly) to ensure your IP address has not changed–otherwise you may be monitoring someone else's broadband line

This is a Virgin Media Ireland customer, Hub 2 refers to Hub 4 there

In that case there's nothing to enable - ICMP responses are allowed by default (unless the IE firmware differs).
