Wifi security

We have just received a brand router from VM. We have reset all the devices in the house for the new router, all has gone well except for Apple air I pads.

We get the following message:

"WPA/WPA2 (tpik) is not considered secure.

If this is your wi-fi network, configure the router to use WPA2 or WPA3"

Is this really a problem or can we ignore it.

I contacted VM and just advised me to change the router password, even though we have just used the new password that came with the new router.
