Help please I'm on my 3 super hub & this one dose exactly the same it can't find some of my wifi devices some work some don't it ask for password so I type it in then it says password not recognised so I change channels it works for about 3 days
then the proses happens all over again Any ideas please
Thanks for the advise nat j In the years I've been with virgin Media I have never had such poor slow internet & constant lose of wifi on some of my equipment I have I the past been told to plug in laptop change chanels re boot reset set hand 2 new boxes later & it's still rubbish to be frank and tonight it's coming up with password not recognise this is another of its party trick it would be nice to have a wifi engineer & not a cable engineer to come out and run some proper test as upto my not so super hub is fine but the signal from the box out is unreliable & so slow not happy with the amount I'm paying for the service that I'm receiving some money back & a wifi specialist would be what I would be sending out next lets see what you can do plz
I've been having exactly the same issues for the past 4 days. My wifi connection works fine during the daytime, but them the 5g and 2g connection keeps dropping out in the evening (sometimes for more than a few hours).
I've reset the super hub, turned the box off and on and read up online about why it could be happening. I've had a great service for the past 2 years but I can afford to pay Virgin for a service that I can't use in the evening. I run my own business so it's crucial to me that I have internet access at all times.
If my wifi connection issues don't improve, i'll be forced to return back to Sky.
Since posting yesterday about my wifi dropping out, I've done a bit more investigation and the problem lies with the Super Hub box.
When my 5G signal is working, I get a 140mbps download speed. However, last night (after the connection had stopped working for the 4th night in a row), I connected an Ethernet cable from the Super Hub box to my Mac and shared the wi-fi connection from there which works as a stop gap.
However, the downside of this is that the wi-fi signal isn't as strong (30mbps) which means I can't connect to the internet upstairs.
I'd like Virgin to send me another Super Hub box so I can see if the same thing happens.
Are you still experiencing intermittent wireless connection?
If so, have you tried to separate the wireless networks so that you have one set for the 2.4 GHz and one for the 5 GHz network? This will help us understand which of the networks is causing the broadband to disconnect. If you do set this up make sure that the name/password are different from each other.
You can also change the security type from WPA - AUTO to WPA - PSK AES.
Hi Sam I seam to lose some of my devises when it switches for 2g to 5g & back I'd there a separate router that could be plugged in the back to run a separate wifi & it's hot a lot slower lately please advise

I appreciate that you'd like this issue resolved and I'll do my best to help.
Wireless connectivity is by nature a bit fickle as it's subject to all manner of interference. For example large bodies of water can absorb the signal so having a large fish-tank in line of sight with the router can impede performance. Likewise solid stone walls or modern stud walls (with the reflective lining) can deflect the signal.
Reconfiguring the wireless settings for optimal performance is a must.

As a last resort, if the above doesn't help, please restore your Hub to factory settings.
And, just in case I'm jumping to all the wrong conclusions, I'd like to know whether or not you experience any issues when devices are hard wired to the Hub? If yes then I'll have to don my thinking cap so please keep me updated.
No problems when hard wired but I'm convinced that some thing has changed as I've had no problem with wifi what so ever for year & for the last few month it's been so Unreliable to send a specialist on this matter to my house would be a nice thing to do as been with you for many years or try another super hub or different one Regards Terry
