Wifi dropping out intermittently hub 3.0

Wifi keeps dropping out intermittently on hub 3.

Tried all other solutions online - rebooting hub, rebooting system, subscribed to faster broadband but no change.

Help!

Re: Wifi dropping out intermittently hub 3.0

Do ethernet cabled devices drop out at the same time or just the wifi ones?

Re: Wifi dropping out intermittently hub 3.0

Not checked ethernet connection.

Drop-out continually happening on Mac, iPhone, ipad & xbox.

Very frustrating.

Looking at other similar forum questions seems to be a regular Hub3 / iOS issue?

Re: Wifi dropping out intermittently hub 3.0

Has anyone tried adding a different router and operate Hub-3 in modem mode only?

Re: Wifi dropping out intermittently hub 3.0

Yes - many people do that - I do with the SH2.

Re: Wifi dropping out intermittently hub 3.0

People will respond soon advising that you should try and sort out your local wifi environment first as a new router (or access point) may not solve the problem - they will be correct in that regard.
Also that a new router is overkill and a wireless access point (or booster) may be all you need - that is also correct.
There are lots of threads on here with good information on these options, but in the spirit of answering your question, here are some recent recommendations on here from satisfied users of mid priced routers or wireless access points..

Re: Wifi dropping out intermittently hub 3.0

You need to check the wired connection first, a new router will not resolve local circuit issues.

If you cannot test wired, then posting some basic diagnostic info may help.

Navigate to the hub's GUI using http://192.168.0.1
Don't log in, click the Router Status button
Copy \ Paste the Downstream, Upstream, and Network Logs.

Don't worry about the formatting, but do obscure personal information like your WAN IP address.

Re: Wifi dropping out intermittently hub 3.0

Griffin is right - as well as posting the stats, to test the network connection on the Mac, connect it by Cat5e or Cat6 ethernet cable.
If its distant from the Hub, then 20-50 metre runs of 5e cable are cheap and can be trailed upstairs over carpet etc, whilst you run the tests.
If your Mac has no ethernet port, then USB3-Ethernet "adapters" are not expensive and can be had from the same online suppliers as the cable.
