What's the best way to fix the wifi poor signal. I had had the settings reset-didnt last.I have added all sorts of boosters including virgin powerline x2. So what is the best solution apart from binning the hub. Thanks Billy
Bit like asking what is a good car to buy 🙂 Depends on what additional feature you want in the Hub, whether it will cover all your wifi needs and your budget. I use only Apple gear (no longer marketed) for a router + x2 additional network wifi extenders. Below are some suggestions from folks on here recently - the Asus range gets generally good reviews on here.
As @jbrennand says, there are lots of models with different features at different price points so difficult to recommend just one that will suit everybody.
I'd suggest you decide on a list of features you want/need the router to have and a budget. Then draw up a shortlist of routers in your price range that have the features you want and see what reviews they get from actual users on places like Amazon.
If you narrow it down and want feedback on specific models then there might be somebody on the forum with the same model that can provide feedback.
My setup: V6 TV box, M350 Fibre broadband with Hub 3 in modem mode connected to a Netgear R7000 router. Telewest/VM user since 2001.
As a Very Insightful Person, I'm here to share my knowledge. I don't work for Virgin Media.
As Scott says - you can do better than that. If you are looking in the £60-90 price range - check out the D-Link options - they are better specced and get better reviews - many are on offer on Amazon. Just ensure it works on a cable connection and has GB ethernet ports - MU-MIMO is good to have too - see this one as an example.
My personal recommendation if you're looking at £70 would be buy a Basic router & then an access point & cable they together to create an Access point around the property, that's what I done and get WiFi out to the end of my back green as well as 2 houses up (surprisingly, as there's lots of Wifi networks around my property.)
I work for Virgin Media - but all opinions posted here are my own
