WiFi keeps dropping

My WiFi is really good then drops out completely several times a day. So bad that devices disconnect. Here is my thinkbroadband url

Re: WiFi keeps dropping

For better wifi get your own wireless router with 1Gb ports and use the hub in modem mode.

Do you get the same problem with wired devices?

Could you access your router using http://192.168.0.1/ or http://192.168.100.1 for modem mode . You shouldn't need log in, select the 'Check Router Status' option and paste your 'Downstream', 'Upstream', and 'Network Log' tabs?

We can have a look for any oddities in the stats.

Thanks. I don't have any wired devices.

I can be sitting in the room downstairs form the router with Speedtest displaying over 50 mbps then minutes later my video conference will drop and I redo the speedtest and it's unreadable or less than 1 mbps.

Re: WiFi keeps dropping

Cant seem to get to the BQM - can you create a link as per the TB website and post that up.

As you have no wired devices - thats the easiest way to judge whether your issues are just wifi related or there is a problem with the network connection. Different fixes apply

Does this work? The last few days it's just solid red. This is the only one with yellow / blue / green

Re: WiFi keeps dropping

Yes. but its still all red - you need to get that sorted as the first part of the BQM doesnt look good at all. - someone else will need to advise.

BUT...

I had the same "wall of red" problem last week and it turned out my i.p. address had changed - after several years of the same one!
I searched for my new address and changed the BQM settings to the new one and its all ok now.

Have you changed between modem/router modes recently - as that DOES give you a different i.p. address - worth checking

Re: WiFi keeps dropping

This is the IP address which is detected by the ThinkBroadband website. Might it be different and how do I find out?

Re: WiFi keeps dropping

Put "find my ip address" into the Google search box, press search and it will be the first up.

Check if that's the same one you have in the BQM settings field - if not change it.
