WiFi connection issues. Dropping

Hi, I have been having issues with my connection that tends to drop out of nowhere. In addition, it was rather bad today as the connection was dropping every 10 or so minutes.

Any ideas how to resolve it?

Thank you.

Re: WiFi connection issues. Dropping

To add, I now tend to have high ms from time to time and cannot explain the cause.

Considering the speed I am on, I should not be affected by such a factor unless I overload the line, which is not the case.

Re: WiFi connection issues. Dropping

This by wire or wireless?

Post your downstream, upstream and logs from the hub.

I am not an expert, but I believe that my downstream levels need to be adjusted.

Thank you for your help.

Re: WiFi connection issues. Dropping

The hub wireless is not that good which is likely your issue but you can have them downstream power levels lowered but don't think it will make much difference the unofficial limit is 15dBmV.

Re: WiFi connection issues. Dropping

Thank you for your input. Well, wireless is my only option considering where the hub is.

Re: WiFi connection issues. Dropping

You can leave this post for about 7 days and the forum team can get someone out to do them power level or call it in.

For better wireless you can look at getting your own wireless router and use modem mode.

Re: WiFi connection issues. Dropping

Hi Nattz,

Sorry about your disconnections. Though you mention them specifically in relation to Wifi performance I do think that the elevated downstream power levels are a factor and would like these to be reduced.

10dBmV is the threshold and yours are higher than that. Please reply to my PM (purple envelope icon, top right of page) and I'll schedule an appointment for you.

Regards,

Jen

Re: WiFi connection issues. Dropping

Hi,

In order to avoid making any new posts, wanted to ask you if someone could have a look at Network Log as a number of errors (critical appear). For some reason, I lose connection and gain it back as soon as I disconnect/reconnect from wifi. Thank you!
