WiFi Extender

Hi all,

I have recently got virgin installed and the WiFi speed is great! (100mb). However the only room in the house it is slow is in my sons room around 5-10mb. His room is not that far away from where the router is positioned downstairs next to the tv.

Will a WiFi booster/ extender or any other device be the most suitable option in order for his room to receive a better speed? We do not have the option of running any wires around the house so a plug in wireless device would be preferred. We are aware this will decrease the overall internet speed.

What brands / models /devices do you recommend? Our router is a hub 3

thank you in advance

Re: WiFi Extender

My lad is an avid internet gamer on his PCX/xbox/ps3 and he uses a pair of these - and on my vivid200 regularly gets 12/210/11 on speeds - he swears by them and they are highly specced and reliable and have the desired "passthrough" feature and 2 ethernet ports.  As an alternative, for about the same ££, - you could put the hub in modem mode and connect your own (better) wifi router or access point.
