Hi.
I've just joined Virgin and have the 250 broadband. Signal is great in most rooms but the back end of the house gets less than 5 mbps and sometimes it's so weak it can't even pick up a signal on the app to scan and check.
I've tried calling and messaging customer service but getting nowhere fast. Any info on how to get through to someone?? The install engineer mentioned if its not a minimum amount in every room that Virgin will give the mesh boosters for free.
Any info greatfully received

Only the top tiers get free pods, e.g. 1Gb
For others it’s £8 pm to rent the Pods

……and a far, far smaller user percentage pay zero monetary cost but suffer disproportionate punitive retaliation after years of trialling hard/software from mid/upper VM management when attempting to both assist community users and publicise deliberate obfuscation/avoidance from technical support.

Hi.
Yeah I spoke with someone after going round in circles trying to get through. Seems my engineer lied when he said if the WiFi wasn't above 20mbps in each room then the pods would be free of charge. Bit frustrating but what can I do!?!

From the VM Website .....
Our WiFi guarantee with WiFi Max is our promise you’ll enjoy download speeds of at least 20Mbps in every room or get £100 bill credit. It’s backed up by our signal-boosting mesh WiFi Pods (if needed) and our Intelligent WiFi service.
If you are on our Gig1 Fibre Broadband, Volt or Ultimate Oomph packages, you get our WiFi guarantee included at no extra cost.
If you are on our M50 to M500 Fibre Broadband packs (without Volt), you can add our WiFi guarantee with WiFi Max for £8 a month with the first WiFi Pod provided automatically.

Thanks.....although I know this now. Just didn't know when it was installled and I questioned the weak WiFi before he had even left. Seems he just wanted to get out of there so told me what I wanted to hear. I came over to VM to save money amd enjoy better WiFi. If I then pay £8 extra a month I'm not saving much.

Thank you for reaching back out and I am sorry you was told this.
We don't actually guarantee WIFI in every room unfortunately without WIFI Max.
The best way to get a pod order is download the Virgin Connect app, from here do a scan.
If the scan picks up that you need a pod it will allow you to order some.
However they can be chargeable depending what package you on.
They are free on Volt, 1GB or Oomph bundles.
Please let me know how you get on. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, although again as I said, if I add on pods for £8 a month th I'm barely better off than when I was with sky. Bit of a pointless move on my part really but I will live and learn by my mistakes
