WIFI stability and mobile wifi calling

Have Huawei phone (android 8.1) with EE as network provider.  At home wifi calls break and don't reconnect.  No issue when wifi calls switched off.  Sometimes have intermittent short hangs when accessing web sites on computers.  Have virgin hub 3 and when running network diagnostics it reports I have problems with device signal strength (all three devices including phone) and to move devices closer to hub. Devices themselves report strong signal.  I've put two devices within 1 metre and "problem" continues to be reported.  I've rebooted hub and reset to factory settings and diagnostics remain as is.

Any thoughts on whether hub 3 needs swapped out or there is another problem?

Thank you for posting this on our forum and welcome to the community. Apologies in the delays in getting back to you. Have you been able to speak to the team since your post? Is this something you still require assistance with? 

 

After rebooting the Hub, have you 'forgotten' the network from the connections settings from the devices as well?

Have only now "forgotten" and reconnected devices.  Prior to this problems were ongoing.  Will report later if reconnection has made any further difference.

Ok first - just check all your coax connections are in nice and "finger" tight at the Hub and wall box and at any splitters/attenuators/etc and that the internal wiring is ok with no kinking or chaffing. Also check that all looks good with the outside cabling and wall box.

Then... if that’s all good.... Post up your Hub/network connection details and someone will check to see if there is a problem there. In your browser’s URL box type in http://192.168.0.1 (or http://192.168.100.1 - if in modem mode) and hit return. On the first page up [there should be no need to login if you have done so before] click on the “router status” icon at top right (SH2’s) or the text at bottom-middle of first page up (Hub3) and then copy/paste 3 FULL sets of data onto here – from the downstream, upstream, & network logs pages. Don't worry too much about the formatting it can be easily read & DON’T include personal data or MAC addresses - blank them out - if you copy/paste the data, the board software will do this for you.

Connections were the first things I checked.  Internal tight.  External look OK.  New cable was spliced in some months ago.

Notice that VM did some software updates to my router Tuesday early.  Still appraising whether changes have improved things with wifi calling.  Forum should note that downstream power levels on router stats are prone to drops.  Normally channels are between 5-6 dBmV and then see below screenshot
