Volt 500 but only getting 350 speeds

As the title suggests we are on Volt 500.  Initially speed tests (wired connection direct to hub) were comfortably above 500 Mbps.  However now tests are consistently giving 350 to 385Mbps download speeds.  I'm suspicious, as those are the speeds we were getting prior to the Volt 500 upgrade.  I have checked the config in the hub and can see that it is set correctly - 'max traffic rate downstream' is 575000000.  So it appears that VM are throttling the connection back to 350 at the head end?

An update - this is now resolved.  I was ready to scrap the router but as a last resort posted on linksysinfo.org on the Tomato Firmware page as to whether there was any reason Tomato would be slower than stock firmware.  The answer was to enable CTF (cut through forwarding) in the Advanced > Miscellaneous menu of the router.  Once rebooted full speed has returned and it's now speed testing at 550/37.2 using ethernet.

Well done. These problems, if not on your circuit, often lie with the router. I'm supposed to know my stuff, being in the business, but I'll never use router non-stock firmware because of the plethora of non-instinctive options. Counterintuitive I know, but I've never needed these extra functions.
