Virgin media connect Wi-Fi connection

This is about using Virgin Media Connect app on a smartphone to get Wi-Fi hotspots in addition to 4G.

To use this I have Wi-Fi, mobile data and location turned on but the app affects my Wi-Fi indication . When I am somewhere there is a solid Wi-Fi connection it disconnects and reconnects to the wifi quite a lot, is this normal? My phone works fine with just mobile data or Wi-Fi on but I wanted to try out the new connect app to see if it works well.

I use Android 7 on a 2016 Samsung phone if that helps.

this forum is for home broadband.

Unfortunately it's a bug at present where it is choosing the VM hotspot WiFi over any saved WiFi profiles on the Android version.

 If you would like to keep the app installed for use when out and about, Force Stop the app from running in the background when at home ect.

I have updated the app but now have a problem with a VM hub Wi-Fi so am posting again.

My Samsung phone can connect with my hub Wi-Fi but won't connect to 2 other hubs - they don't even show up in connections even though they worked before,

Could this be caused by an update or antivirus software? The other hubs seem to work with iOS devices.

I am really sorry you've been having some problems connecting. Are you referring to the hotspots via our 'Connect App'?

Hello hetty_R it was in relation to another VM hub at someone else's house that I have connected to previously without problems;

One of the hubs connects normally now but I had to disconnect the power and start it again so I think it was a hub Wi-Fi problem, I have also been unable to use a printer  with thus hubs Wi-Fi

It sound's like it could be an issue with the other persons hub, have they had problems connecting with other devices? 

 

Can you expand on the issues you're having with your printer?
