Virgin Termination Unit

I want to change to Virgin fibre broadband. The termination unit is at the rear of the apartment. I have Cat6A UTP going back to a small Comms cabinet which is located adjacent to Virgin termination unit. If there anyway I can extend the Virgin connection via the UTP and locate the Virgin router in the Comms cabinet.

I am not aware of any suitable passive or active converters.

Re: Virgin Termination Unit

The feed from the virgin street cabinet has to be approved coaxial cable all the way to the back of the Virgin Media hub ... you can't patch in twisted pair.

Re: Virgin Termination Unit

As long as the Comms unit is in your property and not in a communial area.

The router has to go in your property as far as I am aware, if it is then you will be fine, the router will have to be switched to modem mode if you're planning to use a separate access point.
