I know it does not use the old listed profiles, that why I suggested the OP check for any and delete them, but i'm sure the App added the two Virgin profiles I see as in picture below, the only one I saved is my home one you see listed

Half an hour of playing around - now solved the riddle 😀
When you usually connect to The Cloud, Arg ect using the profiles set by the Connect App, you would still need to log in each time.
In Oreo WiFi settings is a new option called Passpoint - automatically logs you in public WiFi, when you turn Passpoint on the Connect App profiles now show in saved profiles, turn Passpoint off and they disappear 😉

On a related note my Samsung S8 automatically upgraded to the new Connect App earlier this week, which stays running in the background as mentioned earlier. Since then I've noticed the WiFi on the phone intermittently dropping for just a few seconds. An exclamation mark appears on the WiFi connection icon and 4G data kicks in. Within 2-3 seconds the WiFi reconnects.
I'm using my own router and not the Hub 3, but this didn't happen before the Connect App was installed and forcing it to stop running solves the problem. The new app seems to be interfering with the WiFi settings in some way.
