Virgin Hub 3.0 not working in Modem Mode

I have A Hub 3.0 working in modem mode

It is connected solely to an Asus RT AC58U V3 Wireless Router

The router affords wireless connection to all the wireless devices and also hard wired connections to our main home PC and (via mains extenders) connection to my work PC and a couple of other devices.

Yesterday the wireless connection dropped a few times and re-established; but this morning it failed completely.

After much consternation, working from first principles, fault finding and a call to VM, I finally managed to get the Wireless back up an working but ONLY with the Hub 3 in Router Mode. It no longer works in Modem Mode

Any ideas?

Which one of the options should I pick and what's it going to do - I don't like clicking on links I'm not sure of the pedigree of!

The BQM in my sig shows how my connection is so you setting one up does the same for your connection.

Does it just run the test once or start it going for ever?

I did try and set up something on thinkbroadband and it just created a graph of solid red, suggesting that my router was not responding to the pings - my hub is in modem mode so I guess the ping passes straight through that and then gets unresponded to by my asus router?

I dont know how to get into the asus router to tell it to respond to pings, so that avenue seems closed to me ...

I'm really sorry to hear of the issues that you're having with your connection, I have looked into this on our system and cannot see any problems in your local area or with the connection in your home. How has your connection been running since you last posted on Saturday evening, has there been any improvement or has it got worse?
