Should appear under My profile>Manage accounts>My profile.
Then scroll down to My services. Sadly the navigation on the My Virgin Media site is, well, not very good at all. And if you're using a "non standard" browser, or your security settings are very cautious, that might influence the visibility or effectiveness.
But why opt in? It gives the painfully under-powered hub more work to do, given the very, very low spec of the VM hubs it is really very unlikely to benefit anybody else because the range is so poor. And you don't need to opt in to (try and) use the VM hotspot network yourself.
If VM wanted to create a decent wifi hotspot network from their residential customer's hubs, they needed to specify a much, much better unit than that which they currently offer.
I've just got around to calling this in to customer services. Sadly, I was told by the agent that in order to enable a Virgin Media WiFi hotspot, I would need to tell everyone my password. Then he told me that I can enable a guest WiFi network and share the password for that if I wanted (I knew this already). He also told me that if I wanted to access any "UK hotspots" I'd need a Virgin Mobile account.
None of this has helped me set the Hub up to provide a Virgin Media hotspot.
Can you help or provide me with the right words to try on a future call?
Incidentally, I still have no opt in / opt out choice in the profile section of my account.
