VM CORE NETWORK FAILURE {URGANT}

RR-IT-GUY
Rising star

Good afternoon all.

I want to bring to the attention of Virgin Media ASAP that there is an issue with the core network configuration.

It has been brought to my attention by a member of the Thinkbroadband forum that the "BGP is incorrectly configured and rather than going via Liberty Global /Aorta some traffic is going via LINX direct to VMO2"

This poses an issue since there is a lack of capacity through this routing.

This is causing issues with the core network within the last few days.

Please refer to the article attached.

This may not be the same fault. I monitor my parents Sky connection and it's showing the same problem, unlike previously.

24 Hours problem free.(for once) virgin media, if you can at least keep it like this no one would complain! will update post if issue returns (so i'll likely see you in a few hours)

I too have been problem free, I am however expecting it to come back Monday evening at 8pm, this is what happened last weekend, and the weekend before that, happy to be proven wrong Virgin....

I've seen mention of O2 / Liberty and routing migration / changes etc. could it be Virgin are using Liberty routing at weekends when load is presumably at it's highest, then switching back to the crappier, Poundland routing of 02 during weekdays?

Well predicted 🙂

It's nearly press o'clock would look bad if Virgin doesn't acknowledge a group of customers who are all experiencing issues.

Don't know about you but if I was running a company, I would have already issued a statement.

My question is, when to expect compensation for the service issues.

Oh, it’s here now. Connecting via Hindley Green (Wigan) speeds and performance not too bad at the minute but I’m not gaming and just checking on my phone.
