Use an old BT ethernet port to extend range?

Hello

I have my VM hub set up at the front of my house in my living room. The signal isn't great at the rear office room at the top of the house but there is a old BT access point. Is there any way that I can get a wired connection from the access point or, I'm assuming, as this is on the openreach line that there's no connection available to that perticular point? Thanks

The old BT POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) socket is only for connecting a telephone. What you can do is wire some CAT5e/6 cable back to your VM hub, possibly following the route of the old BT phone wire, and install a Wireless Access Point to provide good WiFi upstairs.
