I'm at my wit's end so hoping someone can help me out here, this past week my upload speeds at night and bizarrely in the morning drop substantially. During the day its around 10mbps which is fantastic, at night it can be as low as 0.2mbps. Things I have tested:
Reset router, changed MTU, checked the dbmV readings (upstream stays around 5dBmv... an engineer fitted an attenuator), removed devices from network, turned off wifi entirely.
Downloads were all over the place too at first but now I assume after all my fiddling they now stay rock solid at 110mbps pretty much the entire time.
Running loads of speed test over this week uses google's speed tester the download runs smoothly up the dial but the upload is erratic. It'll spike high, then cut out entirely for a few secs, then wobble all over the shop.
If anyone has any idea what could be going on I'd be super grateful. Thanks very much!
Yep, you need a technician to rectify. There are numerous reasons why this can happen, things like a technician working on the local street cabinet moving connections and down to someone on the cabinet extending their internal cable with non VM cable causing noise ingress for everyone.

Just wanted to say thanks to your help I got a technician who has seemed to have fixed the issue for me. I think he simply changed the attenuator to a forwarding one, and although it’s been a bit wobbly it works great now! Probably would have taken ages to resolve without your knowledge. Have a good one and thanks again!
