Good afternoon,
I have two wifi networks. One runs devices such as the TV and sonos wifi. The other network has only the devolo networking system on it. This consists of three connecting 'plugs': one behind the TV on the groundfloor; one behind the desk top computer on the groundfloor; and one on the first floor for wifi there.
Recently the wifi on the ground floor has been suffering from intermittent drop outs; the connection with the sonos port for the record deck has become so bad it is unusable.
The only router is a Hub4, I appreciate these are very basic bits of kit. I have tried splitting the 2.4 and 5GHz channels and moving the overall wifi channels to avoid congestion, but these steps haven't fixed the drop-outs. I have also been in touch with Sonos Help to check the network from that perspective and all the kit is optimised. Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated. For example, do I need a better router and place the Hub4 in modem mode?

"I have two wifi networks" please clarify? Are your referring to 2 SSIDs? You say you have tried splitting the WiFi bands, but unless they are split you cannot have 2 WiFi SSIDs of different names on a Hub4.

"random Wi-Fi" drop-outs" are frequently caused by having...
1) VM Smart Wi-Fi / Wireless Channel Optimisation enabled
2) Auto Channel selection enabled on the 2.4 & 5GHz bands
These can all be disabled in the Hub and in the devolo Wireless Access point.
For the 2.4GHz band only use channels 1 or 6 or 11
E.g. Channel 1 on the VM Hub and 6 or 11 on the devolo Wireless Access point.

Is it WiFi or the network itself? Virgin tell me that several WAN disconnections every day is "acceptable" service.
