I had this issue myself when helping a mate at this house. One of the switches had to be setup before use. So, we just swapped it to a simple dumb switch and it's been working great ever since and not clashing with any of the other kit.

It's the small things like this that are easily overlooked Smiley Happy

Now you have the switch working, there is one further thing to do to be safe. You need need to go into the hub and restrict the DHCP server to only give out addresses in the range of say 2 to 100. You can then give any devices you add with a static address (which you have done with your switch) any address higher than 100. Max value is 254.
