I got the new Superhub 4 and 1 Gbit broadband last month which has been working fine, except the MAC filtering. I could never get MAC filtering to work on superhub 3 and gave up on it, but had hopes for the superhub 4.

In fact, MAC filtering on SH4 did work at first to prevent access by the kids from 11pm through to 7am the next day, but now for some reason it will block at 11pm but not unblock again in the morning. Every morning I get shouts from bedrooms that the WiFi is broken and I have to toggle the MAC filtering off and on again to get it back.

I did get notification of a superhub firmware update the other day so am suspicious of that.

Is this something that will be fixed soon? Or is there a workaround?

Put the hub into modem mode and use a router that just "works" better

You sound like someone who's long past trusting Virgin hubs!

Would rather have this feature working as it should rather than shell out £100 on an AX50

VM could always fix this by removing this feature they done it before!

So I understand, but in my case it wouldn't be helpful to remove it completely.

The MAC filtering feature works to an extent, so still has some use. It's defective because a manual step is required every morning to reset it.
