I'm having issues with 2.4ghz and 5ghz channels settings. 

I save it to certain channels and then these settings change and won't save for some reason

I have to change these settings a few times in the last couple of weeks

Spoke to virgin technical, the only answer I got was there is a fault in the area and it will back up by 8

Don't think a fault on network would cause settings to change, think it's the hub that's the issue.

Is anyone else having or had this issue

would agree its not a fault in the area - offshore at its best that sounds like

have you turned off smart wifi - its in the wifi settings - not sure thats the problem but do that first - if that and all else fails post back and hopefully one of the VM people will get a new hub to you

"Smart WiFi" can cause channels to change in flight, so to speak. It is kept vague by VM as far as I can see (typical) but functionality is described at https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/Smart-Wifi/m-p/3785946#M192602

So, as Tony says, turn that rubbish off. The hub will then revert to "normal" practice of selecting the least congested channels whenever it is rebooted/reset.
