Superfast broadband but very slow website loading in some cases

Hi everyone

I have very good broadband speed, 150 Mbps not unusual,. but often we find websites slow to load. I thought this might be my problem in choosing the wrong websites but have heard others mention that this might be partly the problem of my set up on my Virgin box.

Please find below the downstream, upstream and log information. If anyone can tell me if this suggests a problem I'd be very grateful. There is no point in having superfast broadband is it can't access the data superfast.

Hi notalamb,

Sorry about your slow browsing. To be honest there could be any number of contributing factors. The T3 timeouts aren't all dated sadly and from my side I can see that there have been 16 timeouts in the past 6 days, but I'm not able to see when they occurred.
Would you reboot your Hub for me please so that the data refreshes? I'll then be able to see if any more occur.

In the meantime, your power levels look healthy so I'd like to know more about how you're connecting. Is it via Wifi or Ethernet?. Does it affect more than 1 device? Is any other Internet activity impacted?

Please provide any other information that may help and we'll investigate further. Don't forget to let us know when you've rebooted.

Great to hear from you, many thanks for looking at this. I have rebooted the hub, do you need me to repost the downstream, upstream, log information, if so please let me know.

Once again many thanks for your help, it would be great if I can get fast performance back again.

Hi Jen

I missed your request for some other information regarding my slow broadband performance. I am experiencing the problem both on an ethernet connection to the modem as well as wireless. It does affect more than one device, I'm not certain what you meant regarding other Internet activity impacted, the Virgin system is the only one we have.

As per my previous email I can confirm that I have rebooted this hub. I hope that gives us more information.

I've just tested your connection and I can see you've now been online for 6 days and you've had no time-outs during this time which is encouraging. 

As Jen said, everything is good with your levels. Jen is wondering about other online activity, you mentioned browsing seems slow, how about streaming videos? 

We will continue to investigate this with you.

Hello Heather

Many thanks for your assistance with this, it's great to know that people such as you are there for backup. I'm pleased to see that I have not had any timeouts, and noticed that on the original posting I made that I had 16 T3 timeouts  which were on the US-1 upstream channel.  Does this mean to say that my problem was not in downloading data from the Internet but uploading instructions to various websites etc? Anyway it might have been a short-term fluke, I'll keep an eye on it and if anything else comes up I'll post again.
