Re: Static IP

Guys I appreciate what it would take. Next to nothing. Having a static IP would be a great help. I have a website, a server and an FTP site that I run. All need a static IP, not just a sticky.

If my IP changes I have update every pc that runs a backup to my FTP. Etc etc

Why VM don't allow it beats me.

Re: Static IP

You still do not need a fixed IP to run a website. Have have four running on my connection just use DDNS with Namecheap and the updates if my IP changes is handled by my Ubiquiti EdgeRouter.

Re: Static IP

Yes Tudor. Evaluating it now, but it doesn't help with FTP

Re: Static IP

why not just buy external hosting, since if your internet goes down bye bye site.. can get this for around £5 a month with static

Re: Static IP

I have been trying to get rid of ours for several months, try setting your router to modem mode static IP address 1, then set it back to router mode static IP address 2 - leave the hub in one of the modes for 2 weeks, try whatsmyip note ip address, switch back to modem mode for two weeks and try whatsmyip.... yes you have it two static ip addresses which are supposed to change every day according to the lease, a problem with lack of IP addresses and no support yet for ipv6
