Hi I have been having a few broadband issues for past and is is true you need the broadband lights should be facing the room ? At the moment my hub lights are facing the window pointing outside

The Hub doesn't have a fixed radiation pattern.  You can turn it whichever way gives you the best coverage in your house. 

The most important thing is that it is the open, not up against a wall and not screened by other objects particularly metal ones.

Sorry to hear of the issues you've been experiencing.

Can you please confirm if you experience an connection issues with an Ethernet connected device?

Is the hub in a wide and open space currently?
