Short connection drop, even on wired connection

My Router was installed on 16/10/20. 50Mb/s, 2 desktops at most.

Everything seems fine, but even on wired connection my Desktop gets short connection drops every 5 minutes or so.

I have tried several cables (including the CAT6e that virgin provided!)

I have already reset pin the router.

Ive updated all windows updates and all ethernet drivers.

This was not a problem at my previous home (also on virgin)

Re: Short connection drop, even on wired connection

Are you wired direct to the hub or via a switch/powerline adaptor.

Re: Short connection drop, even on wired connection

I am directly wired.

And i have also tried to use a switch into it.

The problem occurs on all setups. As the problem is intermittent it is hard to tell what the exact cause it.

It seems to be most frequent during peak hours, but this should not be relevant for 2 PC's on 50Mb/s connection.

Post the network, upstream and downstream logs from the hubs admin pages

Re: Short connection drop, even on wired connection

Downstream levels are a touch on the low side and the upstream is definitely too high.

You'll likely need an engineer.

Re: Short connection drop, even on wired connection

How do I request  an  engineer on here?

The phone centers are a nightmare at the moment!

The engineer came last monday, so im surprised he didn't see anything then!

where is the root of the problem for something like this?

If i reset the router with the pin again, is that going to make a difference or is it in the cabinet that's the issue?

Re: Short connection drop, even on wired connection

You can check all the cables are seated correctly and are nice and tight.

Giving the router a reboot won’t do any harm and you can repost the stats again after that and see if they have changed.

Re: Short connection drop, even on wired connection

Like in my original message, I have tried several ethernets, the fibre cable is in tight on both ends.

i have done several reboots, what im asking is if a hard factory reset will help, i dunno the root cause.

Again, how do I ask for an engineer on here?
