I had the same problem and yes the problem is with the Hub 3.0. The issue is the firewall on the local router. If you turn off the firewall it works but obviously you don't want to do that so a workaround I used was to put the IP address of my Iphone as the IP on the DMZ on my router and it now works, don't ask me how I had a long chat with the tech person for Ring and 2 hours later we got down to the bottom of it.
Virgin were no good at all 1st call you get is from some Indian who are always unhelpful and have a bad attitude and want to get your off the phone as soon as possible and go by the book e.g. manual anything outside of that they have no idea about troubleshooting. It depends who you get at the end of the day.
Anyway good luck give it a try and let me know how it goes.

same problem for me but only recently the doorbell used to work on the ipad till the other day, still works fine on android and alexa....
so....
an hour on the ph to vm, passed from pillar to post 6 times each time had to verify my account... when i asked about having some ports opened on my router 3 of the customer service people thought i was talking about the physical 4 ports on the back of my router !!!!! finally got through to the so called tech guy who was going remote access my computer when he put me thorough to some other foriegn person who then tried to tell me i would be charged 20.00 for this service !!!!.
needless to say i hung up and called retentions in the hope that i would speak to someone english who would understand my plight, who then made some notes on my account, put me through to someone that could help, apparently, when this person came on the ph i told him whay i wanted and he said do you mean the 4 ports on the back of the router !!!!!!.... i hung up!
how hard can it be for vm to make this happen????

Hey, interesting. Which exact router did you get ? I know you can put the hub 3.0 in modem mode and plug in a better external router which keeps the signal steady (and stronger??) but which one? I tried a TP link one but couldn’t get it to work.
Many thanks

I actually sorted the problem by rebooting the hub, however I’m still interested in looking at a mesh system for the house and do away with the vm extenders, as with the two extenders being on different networks effectively with different passwords ect ....nothing automatically swaps to the strongest signal .
However I did ask that in a different thread but didn’t get a definitive answer that I understood as a layman.

Well I thought I had this sorted by rebooting the sh3 but after an hour or so the problem returns. But ONLY ON THE IPAD the android mobile and Alexa spot and 5 work absolutely perfect.
so why would it be only a problem for iOS ???
i know I can buy a new hub and run the sh3 in modem mode but virgin have been in this game and wifi has been around long enough to do things properly so I don’t really see that as a solution to a problem that shouldn’t exist.

Hi all I hope this helps,
I got mine working doing the following.
1.log in to the router settings 192.168.0.1.
2.go to security settings.
3. Insert the mac address at the bottom of the page..the mac code is on the back of the ring doorbell.
4.and make sure its 5gz only, also delete anything else related to the ring doorbell mac.
5.try the set up again.
I hope it works for you
Regards,
Darren
