Repeatedly disconnects since broadband speed upgrade

I recently had my BB speed upgraded from 100Mb to 200Mb with a new package and since then, my internet randomly disconnects all the time.  Could it be the hub i'm using?  I've had it several years.  Any help would be appreciated, it's driving my son and I insane.  

I apparently have a HUb 3.0

Could this upgrade happen to have coincided with a local network issue? See https://care.virginmedia.com/care/service-status

Thanks for the reply.  I have just looked at that and it says the problem is only with TV.  Its been ok for the last hour or so, so see how it goes, but for the last few days, it was disconnecting every half hour or so, sometimes less.
