RCS Partial Service

After a very clean, faultless experience with Virgin Media for over a year, of course a problem had to finally arise.

Randomly on 10th of June, my internet has been very intermittent, where it will work on Ethernet quite well, but WiFi devices are sometimes fully unable to connect, or take a few minutes, then they will cut out through content, but none of this is experienced through Ethernet.

Only a few times has it gone down on the Ethernet too

I have the M500 plan

Any help would be appreciated

Re: RCS Partial Service

Update: WiFi devices are now almost unusable, forced to use mobile data, but Ethernet devices remain quite stable.

Re: RCS Partial Service

Reboot the hub. It will clear the red blocks on the BQM (a known issue with VM hubs).

Re: RCS Partial Service

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. I will reboot it when I get the chance. Apart from the red blocks to me everything looks fine to me on the BQM, so I'm really not sure what my issue is.. Usually I'd be able to fix/diagnose stuff like this by myself but I think it's a fault which may need looking into beyond my knowledge

Re: RCS Partial Service

The downstream power levels are marginally high - the max being 10 and you’re pushing 9.3 to 9.6.

Do all connections drop?

Re: RCS Partial Service

For some very bizarre reason, only Wi-Fi devices seem to be primarily affected. They don't all drop out at once, one will drop out for a few minutes then begin to work, and the laptop tends not to drop out at all through Wi-Fi. However, the phones seem to keep repeating it every 10-15mins.

No major problems at all experienced with Ethernet devices, apart from the very occasional drop out along with the RCS partial service in the log.

Also when I reinstalled the Ethernet driver when first diagnosing, it seemed to do what the laptops and phones was doing but only did it once at the very start.

Enabling a VPN/switching TAP adapter also breaks it, but it resumes to work completely normally as soon as the VPN is turned off.
