Problems with Hub 3.0

Hi,

My hub is all over the place. We have 3 mobile phones, 3 laptops, a kindle and a Network streamer that should be connecting via wifi and a hard drive that's connected via ethernet cable. Currently, only 1 laptop is connected with internet access, all the phone can connect to wifi but haven't got internet access, the Network Streamer can see the network but can't connect at all and the ethernet cable connected hard drive isn't showing up either. Problems been happening now for a few days. Any help or advice gratefully received. Here's some logs:

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0

I did initially call VM last Friday as I lost the lot, internet and TV for about 90 mins, but then it all came back, so I foolishly cancelled the engineer appointment...

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0

WiFi is a huge problem. Have you read my sticky post in this section of the forum?

https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/UNDERSTANDING-KEY-ASPECTS-OF-WiFi/td-p/3870...

Have a read and let us know if any of that applies to your case?

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0

Thanks, but not really helpful. The hub hasn't moved, was working fine until last Friday and there has been no changes around the house in terms of walls, furniture etc etc to interfere with the signal strength. The fact that you can be in the same room as the hub, connected to the wifi but still have no internet access is surely evidence that the hub is malfunctioning in some way? And why is the appearance of devices connected by ethernet cable to the hub so erratic?

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0

One thing that can affect WiFi, especially when all has been good for sometime, is that inteference has started being generated. This could be in the form of neighbours getting new WiFi, of perhaps even some new electrical equipment that is generating the interference.

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0

There is evidence in the log suggesting that the circuit may have dropped on a few occasions.

This is now for the VM bods to delve into. They take a week or so to get to a thread.

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0

Hi Igzilla,

Sorry to hear you've had some problems. I've just checked your connection and can see no issues from here. Your power levels, SNR and area contention are healthy.

How is your connection now?

Re: Problems with Hub 3.0

Thanks, it's been behaving itself since Sunday evening, though I have had one further warning in the log of RCS partial service:
