Well-informed

I'm assuming the latency spikes on my BQM are some sort of monitoring or testing.

I have no idea as I has not informed of what is is or why its being done.

If it is, could you please opt me out.

Anything connected will go unresponsive when the test is happening, not ideal for gaming.

It started on the 16th of this month.

I have performed a pin hole reset and a restart but it did not stop it.

VM don't care they think its fine DoS you every hour so use modem mode

Now I have packet loss too.

Cool.

Why do I put up with this?

The packet loss might be a bad docsis connection or a routing to/from BQM best to ping your VM WAN gateway for checking that

Dont the hourly spikes correspond to the "auto" Samknows speedtests?

What Hub/package are you on?

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & BT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi) Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

I presume so, but that is just a guess.

I'm on 1gig.

This is a total disaster!

I've got hourly ping spikes, packloss and now ultra high latency.

What the hell is going on?

Are you in modem mode with your own router - or is the Hub in normal router mode?

I just did a bit of scouting around on the gaming forum and noticed some striking similarities....

My BQM tonight....

Aside from my annoying & unwanted sam knows auto monitoring thing every damned hour, they all have the same problem at the same time.

Yes its likely a DDoS hitting VM network

Its interesting how VM gateway just cut ICMP to max 50ms~
