Ever ‘just wonder’ sometimes?
Is resetting the Hub 4 via the pinhole on the back exactly the same as a Factory Reset via a browser?

I think you need to wait for a definitive response from VM staff. In my mind a factory reset would set a device back to as it was shipped, that is removing all firmware updates. As VM terminology does not seem to follow normal standards this may not be the case with VM hubs. A pin-hole reset certainly does not set a hub back to “as it was shipped” state, it just clears all temporary memory and counters.

Thank you.
Just to clarify, I meant is a pinhole reset the same as accessing the Hub’s settings via 192.168.0.1 and choosing Factory Reset?

That’s exactly what I thought you meant.

Good morning @Anonymous
Thank you for your post.
What Tudor has advised is correct, I must also admit that I am guilty of referring to them as one and the same.
I am going to feed this back to our manager so that going forward we give the correct information.
Kind regards,

I've used both processes (on the Hub 3) and the response to each by the Hub seems to be the same. (Lights, reset process, etc)
Regarding what a 'factory reset' does, it would seem that it restores all non-volatile configuration information to factory default values but des not revert the firmware to the version that was installed in the factory.
