Password restriction on different HUBs?

Just returned to virgin and got a HUB3, I planned to set the SSID and wifi password to match my old router so that the various wifi gizmos around the house do not need reconfiguring.

The password I want to use is upper case alpha numeric, 10 chars, so I am stuck on the hub 3 requiring a lower case letter in the mix.

Does anyone know of any other hubs they do that will let me put in a slightly less secure password.

Or is there a way to set it via another protocol, REST etc.?

(I realise I can put it in modem mode but don't like the clutter)

No, you are stuck with the built-in requirement. The only alternative is the Hub 4, but I understand that is just the same.

Re: Password restriction on different HUBs?

I gave up and went around the house working out how to change details on timers, switches, plugs, cameras...

A good argument for buying a decent router and just using a cable/adsl modem to make it easy to flip broadband supplier when the penalty rates start.
