Packet loss, SYNC timing synchronisation failure, RCS partial service, and No ranging response

I am very confused and unhappy with the service I have been receiving from my Virgin Media Vivid 350 package as of late.

I am not sure how long it has been going on but I have been noticing it mainly in the last month. I have now started recording the packet loss and checking the network log of the 3.0 Hub and can confirm at random times I will get anywhere from 5% to 10% packet loss, as well as Synch timing synchronisation failure, RCS partial service and no ranging response notifications on my 3.0 Hub network log.

I have had the 3.0 Hub in modem mode for the last 2 months and before that had it in standard router mode. I have tried both setups and I am recording the same issues regardless of which mode it is in. I work from home and I also like to game in my spare time, this is increasingly becoming a big problem - particularly when gaming.

Is there a known issue with the latest firmware? Or perhaps a problem in my area ME16?

Kind regards

Re: Packet loss, SYNC timing synchronisation failure, RCS partial service, and No ranging response

Sorry, here is the link to the BQM graph of the last 24 hours. Please ignore the 100% packet loss at the start, this was where I was setting it up and had to change a firewall setting to allow it to work.

Are you in modem mode now? And with what own router do you have or is it to a PC?

Do you mostly get Packet loss when downloading or uploading?

As your BQM shows clear then spikes with Packet loss.

Could you post your downstream and upstream from the hub 192.168.100.1

Re: Packet loss, SYNC timing synchronisation failure, RCS partial service, and No ranging response

Hi Alessandro, thanks for the quick reply!

Yes it is in modem mode now. It is linked into a Netgear Nighthawk R7000 router and from there linked directly into my PC. With Cat 5 LAN cables.

The packet loss seems to be random. All I have been doing since my last post half an hour or so ago is watching a twitch live stream - and I just recorded quite a large packet loss spike. I will quite often get the packet loss when playing games too, I don't know if it is linked to that or just a coincidence. This is how I first noticed the problem as my the game has on screen network stats which show packet loss and latency.

Odd you have a big packet loss happen yet logs show nothing for that time 5pm.

Re: Packet loss, SYNC timing synchronisation failure, RCS partial service, and No ranging response

I have just started playing a game online multiplayer and the packet loss has started, it seems to be linked to what I am doing. Any ideas?

Yes, as soon as I started playing a multiplayer game it is also started having the problem. It lasts for a little while then goes away, intermittently.

Interestingly since we spoke the packet loss has got more regular, but the latency hasn't dropped massively as well. Just the packet loss... As you can see on the graph.
