Packet Loss (Router Ping)

MrPegMan1
Tuning in

Hi, my problem has always been issues with wifi.  Spotify stops and starts every 10-20 seconds.
Google meetings have constant warning over the stability of my connection.
My Amazon devices need to be rebooted after the router is restarted.

this Ping info isn't normal right?

PING www.google.com (142.250.200.4): 64 data bytes
72 bytes from 142.250.200.4: seq=0 ttl=115 time=30.000 ms
72 bytes from 142.250.200.4: seq=1 ttl=115 time=20.000 ms
--- www.google.com ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 2 packets received, 60% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 20.000/25.000/30.000 ms

PING 1.1.1.1 (1.1.1.1): 64 data bytes
72 bytes from 1.1.1.1: seq=0 ttl=52 time=60.000 ms
72 bytes from 1.1.1.1: seq=1 ttl=52 time=20.000 ms
--- 1.1.1.1 ping statistics ---
5 packets transmitted, 2 packets received, 60% packet loss
round-trip min/avg/max = 20.000/40.000/60.000 ms

BQM looks fine.

Hi, thanks for taking the time to look and provide a very detailed explanation.

The image is from the LAN device which is connected to the VM router with cat6 ethernet, here it says bad connection.
The remote Wifi Mesh device has a steady "Connected" state.
Which points me back to the router again.

I should say, I purchased these Devolo devices as a result of my problems and my general unhappiness was happening well before I bought these.
They show another symptom of my issues, not the cause.

For work we use Google over MS Office, and Meet constantly shows a network warning for me with again another "bad connection".
Also when rebooting my router I often have to switch off & on my Alexa devices to get them reconnected to the router.
Devices connected to the Devolo are generally fine, but of course the Devolo's are hiding the router problem by adding another layer.

Honestly, I just want VM to replace the router but apparently that is near impossible for me.
Otherwise I need to buy my own router and switch it to modem, but honestly why should I need to do that for a standard semi in suburbia.  I've payed them plenty over approaching 30 years.
I mean, what is the working life span of these, surely it needs to be replaced every 5 years running 24/7...

Thank you for your response @MrPegMan1.

I have had a look into your service and everything seems in order on our system. In this case, are you able to run a BQM https://www.thinkbroadband.com/broadband/monitoring/quality over the next 24hrs? This will help us to better understand the issue at hand.

Thanks,

Hi, just checking you reviewed the thread and not just the last message.

Try the original post. Or you want me to do it again?

Hi @MrPegMan1,

The initial post you made in this thread shows a screenshot of your BQM at that time. Are you able to share with us a link to your live BQM? That way we can see your connection in real-time.

Thanks,

Now the kids Fire HDs say "No Internet" each day when connected to my WiFi.

No router reboot required just disconnect and reconnect.

This NEVER happens with my VPN router built from a Pi.  These routers must be total garbage.  Good job everyone does fibre broadband now.
No monopoly to hide behind.

Hi @MrPegMan1 thanks for your further post and I am sorry to hear this.

It looks like since this post, you have already been invited to exchange PM's by a colleague who has replied to you.

Please kindly respond to them privately and we can take things from there!
